"MAJOR SKETCHING TOOLS"

SHADE PENCILS:

In order to draw different values, to darker & lighter areas and to show depth in our sketching or drawing. we need different shading pencils.

Like: #H, #HB,  #2B, #4B, #6B, #8B, 10B.

Greater the number in shade, more darker the shade of the pencil and some lighter shades pencils are included: H, 2H, HB.

In simple ordinary pencil we generally used it for lighter values. we don’t need to buy it specifically through their names.

DIFFERENT ERASERS:

*KNEADABLE ERASER: This eraser is like a clay, Use to erase graphite and make highlights in the drawing.

for example: if you’re making a tree and want to highlight a point then we use kneadable eraser, we gently press the eraser in the area we want to highlight and then take it out.

*VINYL ERASER: Imagine that you’re making a portrait of a person and without meaning to you add a darker shade in a lighter area, In this case we use vinyl eraser because it neatly cleans the lines of dark pencils.

*DETAIL ERASER: Detail eraser is used when we have to add details in our drawing. Like: Making highlights in hairs.

*GUM ERASER: when we use a fine or subtle paper for drawing, we use gum eraser because it works gentle on papers. It doesn’t tear a paper when we erase.

PAPER SHEETS:

Paper sheets are depends on what type of drawing we are making. Like:

-For water color sketching we need to use thick papers.

-If we want to practice drawing, basic shapes or do quick drawing then we can use a thin paper here.

-if you want to draw on the basis of drawing techniques, bold shade and for charcoal paintings then use cartridge paper.

BRUSHES:

Just like pencils whatever the shape we want to draw or shade on paper. we use it, In the same way we use brushes like for small details we use thin brushes, for darker area we use thick brushes and if we want to blend an area then we use gentle or soft brushes.

BLENDING STUMP:

This tool is used for fine or smooth blending. it is made up of tightly wrapped papers.

WHITE & BLACK CHARCOAL PENCILS:

If you want to highlight an object in your drawing then use white charcoal pencil and,

If you want to shade darker parts of an object then use black charcoal pencil.

Both are important in your drawing to add values, showing depth, three dimensionality.
