“Sketching and drawing are really the same thing”? if we try to see both sketching and drawing then we find out that they do also have similarities in each other but they are not exactly same. Think of it like this, ‘If sketching is a city then drawing must be country .’
<sketching means rough, free hand drawing of any object. it includes basic shapes and Lines. The key purpose is having clarity in basics things of the object. sketching is use for rapid ideas, for outlines and to examine the objects.
*For example: if we draw a leaves then we start drawing its basic shape add some margin lines in it and start to add some light and dark areas in it.
< Drawing is a way of revealing ideas and feelings. it covers all types, from rough work to detail finish work. when we make a detail artwork and made-to-order artwork with depth and give touch up, its comes in Drawing. This can be used in many domains like art and illustrations, Architecture, designing and Educational sectors etc.
^So, when we see contrast: sketching take less time span than drawing because drawing includes Refining and correctness. The aim of sketching is trying new ideas and whereas, Drawing involve making shapes to creating a detailed work. sketch is simple and rough and its process is sudden. whereas, drawing has its depth and its process include more planned.
^Like, i said earlier they do have parallels too:
–Sketching and drawing both contain in ‘visual art.’
–In Sketching and drawing both, we use same type of Tools and Materials.
– They Both need Work and Attention.
–And, most importantly sketching is ‘SEGMENT’ of Drawing .
To sum up, Sketching and Drawing have variant features but both are attached to each other. when we try to make an object the very think we do on paper is to make a rough sketch and then after cover details, Both are the Styles of Artistic skills with which it helps an learner to think in multiple ways. It varies on learner that what they Crave to make and Try to Reveal through it.
